As it happens, not all drums or drumsets are made the same and in the case of vintage, retro or antique drums, they often require a little extra attention. However, full restoration projects for 4-5piece sets are typically capped at $770aud (+gst) then any new or spare parts, drums heads etc. are sepeartely costed. All full restoration projects require a consult and assessment prior to work beginning to advise of any potential added or special requirements.

Can you reskin my Djembe or other animal skinned instrument?

In most cases, yes. I keep a small amount of vellum stock including, goat, lamb, kangaroo and cow. Animal skin instruments can be somewhat tricky to service and usually require an extended labour period to work the skins onto the instrument properly. A selection of synthetic replacement heads are also available most of the time, but are pre-manufactured to “standard” industry sized drums/instruments only.

Can you repair my cracked cymbal?

Cymbals can be repaired to a certain extent, but usually any cymbal repairs or alterations are considered a temporary measure or to potentially extend the life of a cymbal. Cymbal repairs usually require a portion of the cymbal to be cut and removed which typically doesn’t effect the sound or tone of the cymbal but can affect the balance of a cymbal.
