Yamaha EAD Custom Mount project

What you looking at here is a Yamaha EAD10 unit mounted on a 16” bass drum which is actually a converted floor tom, so the batter side of this 16” bass drum actually still has the original eight lug triple-flange steel hoop which does not allow for the EAD10 clamping system to be fitted; the main unit is only designed to fit onto a wooden or steel bass drum type hoop so I set out to design an effective mounting system.

This project was for finishing two blank drum shells from Summit drum shells. These particular two 12 inch and 14 inch Okume (“oh-cue-may”) which is part of the Mahogany family which some of you may know comes in hundreds and hundreds of varieties.

Pork Pie Little Sqealer Kit Project

Pork Pie Little Squealer shell pack, beautiful thick heavy ply maple shells in a high gloss clear finish with Pork Pies famous hour-glass lugs, 2.3mm heavy hoops. This project was a delight overall with no real major hurdles. A full strip down, clean, re-dressing of all bearing edges, fitting new 12mm stainless steel legs to the floor tom which are made here in-house at Brisbane Drums.

Camco Bass Drum pedal Restoration project

This vintage Camco single bass pedal was an absolute pleasure to work on and really turned out to become one of my personal favourites of the year!
Simple, functional design with the visual feature focusing on the 360 degree chain cam being propped up by what seems to be a perfect clash of styling era’s, showing some hard-edged designs right along side flowing lines and feathered seams leaving an aire of slight sophistication and simplicity.
